Missing Decatur Man Found Safe, Statewide Mattie's Call Canceled

DECATUR, GA — After searching for a missing Decatur man through the weekend and issuing a Mattie's Call throughout Georgia to find him, police said Franklin Clyde Wilson was found safe Monday.

Wilson, 63, was last seen April 6 at his Decatur home, police said last week. They said he suffered from medical and mental health illnesses and was believed to be in danger of self-harm at the time. Police issued a statewide Mattie's Call on Thursday to find him.

Decatur police spokesperson Sgt. John Bender said via email Monday that Wilson "has been located and is safe," but no other details were provided.
