DECATUR, GA -- A new album is set for debut for locally based rock band The Bitteroots on Friday. The band, celebrating 11 years in 2019, is releasing their sixth record through streaming and download platforms. The album, entitled “Derailer,” was written and recorded over the course of 2018 at Sarlaac Mastering & Music Production Co., the studio of Bitteroots saxophonist Derron Nuhfer.

The single “No Demands” was released Feb. 22 exclusively on Spotify.

“Derailer” is also available for physical purchase at 2019 Bitteroots shows, including the upcoming April 13 Amplify Decatur Music Festival and the Bitteroots’ pair of 11th anniversary shows May 18 at Eddie’s Attic.

“This project has been a labor of love and we can’t wait to share it with everyone,” said singer Laura Dees. “These songs really represent where we’re at as a group and capture our sound at its best: raw, emotional, unbridled and enthusiastic. It is hands down our finest work to date.”

The Bitteroots have previously released five albums of original music. Original albums include “French Fries” (2010), “Central of Georgia” (2012), “After The Rain” (2013) and “Under The Big Sky” (2014). The band also released a live album (“Live at The 120 Music Hall”) recorded in 2014.
