New Minister At Decatur Methodist
Dr. David Bevel Jones comes from Glenn Memorial United Methodist, next to the Emory University campus.

The United Methodist Church shuffled ministers over the summer, as it traditionally does, and there's a new face leading the Decatur First United Methodist.
Dr. David Bevel Jones is the new senior pastor. The church website says he previously served down the road at Glenn Memorial United Methodist, next to the Emory University campus, for seven years.
The website says,
He is an Atlanta native and an avid sports fan with a special fondness for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the Atlanta Braves. He even served as the United Methodist Representative to the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games. He enjoys fishing, barbecuing, photography, studying the Civil War, and reading novels about the sea. His travels have taken him to twelve European countries, the Middle and Far East, Central and South America, and Africa.
He's married to Cathy and has two adult children. His father used to be the senior pastor at Decatur Methodist.
