New Restaurant Grand Opening Saturday In Decatur

DECATUR, GA — Ponko Chicken will host a grand opening Saturday from 5 to 11 p.m. in Decatur. The “Amer-Asian” chicken franchise is opening a new location downtown.

There will be live music, giveaways, food samples and a ribbon cutting. Free tickets are available through Eventbrite. Visit Ponko Chicken Decatur’s Facebook page for giveaways and prizes.

The event will be held at 312 Church Street, in the parking lot to provide space for social distancing. Attendees will be required to wear masks.

An outdoor stage for performances by DJ Fernando F, RUNAGROUND and Purple Madness, a Prince tribute band, will be set up. The Georgia Bulldogs season opener at 4 p.m. against Arkansas will also be shown.

Ponko Chicken's other locations are in Buckhead, Midtown, Marietta, Lenox Square Mall and Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
