Oakhurst Jazz Nights Start Thursday

Spread a blanket and enjoy the free music at the Solarium at Historic Scottish Rite.

The spring session of the Jazz Nights at Scottish Rite concert series kicks off Thursday, April 4, at the Solarium at Historic Scottish Rite at 321 W. Hill St. in Decatur.

A different jazz artist or band will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. every Thursday in April at the old hospital building in the Oakhurst neighborhood. Most people spread out a blanket, open a bottle of wine and soak in the sounds.

There's a bonus show on May 16 with singer Annie Sellick.

The website for the concert series lists the rules, and they're pretty simple: bring blankets not lawn chairs, throw away your trash and stay out of the flower beds. Kids are welcome.

If it rains, the show will be moved into the Solarium.
