Poverty Is Real Concerts Raised $14,500

The money benefits the Decatur Cooperative Ministry.

Poverty is Real, the Decatur-based nonprofit, raised $14,500 last month with a weekend of concerts at Eddie's Attic.

The money goes to the Decatur Cooperative Ministry, a local group that helps the homeless and low-income people.

The performers included Caroline Herring, Bobby Bare Jr., Matthew Mayfield and Nathan Beaver.

The 2012 Poverty is Real concerts raised $10,000, according to a previous Patch story.
