Atlanta United FC has abandoned plans for its $35 million soccer complex in DeKalb County.

Atlanta United FC won’t be headquartering in DeKalb County.
The team announced Friday afternoon that it will instead build its $35 million complex in Marietta, according to the AJC.
The complex had aroused the ire of residents after interim CEO Lee May and the commission voted -- by a narrow, 4-3 margin -- to give the franchise $12 million in incentives to build at I-285 and Memorial Drive, including $5 million for land preparation.
