UPDATED: Robber Shoots Victim at Kensington Manor Apartments

A 24-year-old was shot early Tuesday during a robbery at the Kensington Manor Apartments, DeKalb County police said.

Police are still investigating the 12:55 a.m. incident at 3360 Mountain Dr. in unincorporated DeKalb County.

The victim, shot in the left buttock, was sent to a local hospital with what was believed to be non-life-threatening injuries, Capt. Steven R. Fore, a police spokesman, told Decatur-Avondale Estates Patch.

The victim told police he tried to run away from his attacker when the gunman opened fire.

A friend of the victim drove him to the Waffle House on East College Avenue where they called police.

Fore said the investigation continues.

The gunman is described as a black male, about 26-years-old, 5'6" in height, and 165 pounds. He has a dark complexion, a low-haircut with a wave pattern and a beard.
