DEKALB COUNTY, GA — The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office and Atlanta Police Department arrested a second suspect in the killing of a child in May, DeKalb sheriff's office spokesperson Cynthia Williams said in a news release Friday.

The child, whose name is not released, died as a result of injuries sustained from beatings by Myrick and the child's father, Cedric O'Neal Herring, 26, according to arrest warrants. Herring has been in custody at the DeKalb County Jail since May 30.
