DEKALB COUNTY, GA — A 17-year-old has been arrested in connection with an October 2020 armed robbery and murder, the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office said late Friday.

Chevaz Mekhi Barnes of Decatur was arrested Friday on warrants for his arrest for his alleged role in the armed robbery and shooting death of 20-year-old Donovan Durham on Oct. 30, 2020. Earlier this year, 20-year-old Bishop Wilson of Stone Mountain surrendered himself to the sheriff's office after warrants were issued for his arrest as well in relation to the case.

Warrants allege that a vehicle and cash were taken during a weapons purchase involving Barnes and Wilson, when Durham was shot and killed. Barnes was arrested in Lithonia and both suspects are being held in the DeKalb County Jail without bond, police said.
