DECATUR, GA -- A Covington woman in jail for allegedly opening fire on a man during a parking dispute outside a Target is due in court Thursday morning, Patch has learned. Tara L. Woman Arrested In Shooting Outside DeKalb Target

The incident stemmed from what authorities are calling “parking lot rage,” after Moody and another motorist got into it outside the Target. After a delivery truck entered the parking lot and blocked an exit, Moody and the other driver, identified as Robert Herwing, 47, of Decatur, each contended for a parking space with neither of them willing to compromise, according to authorities.

After that, things escalated in a matter of seconds.

A police report obtained by WAGA says, "Mr. Herwing poured a liquid from a bottle on the vehicle. A black female exited the vehicle and entered into a verbal altercation with Mr. Herwing. Mr. Herwing started pouring the liquid on the female. The female entered into her vehicle and appeared to produce a firearm."

Moments later, Herwing got shot and Moody sped off.

The victim is expected to be OK although he was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. He is being treated at Atlanta Medical Center after suffering a gunshot wound to the chest.
