2nd Arrest Made in Bay Creek Park Shooting
Gwinnett Police both suspects have been arrested and the alleged firearm has been recovered in connection with Oct. 6 incident.

Gwinnett Police said both suspects have been arrested and the firearm has been recovered from an early-October shooting incident at Bay Creek Park near Loganville.
No one was apparently injured in the Oct. 6 shooting, which police said was an isolated incident due to an argument over a basketball game.

Gwinnett Police Public Information Officer Cpl. Deon Washington said Dallas Root, 19, was arrested on Oct. 21 in Snellville and charged with aggravated assault and reckless conduct. During a search warrant on the same day, the firearm was located at a home in Walton County.
John Ribblett, 28, was arrested in Snellville on Oct. 30 and charged with aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

A witness told police at the time of the incident he saw a physical altercation take place between three males, which led to a fight. During the fight, one of the males produced a gun, and the gun was fired as another male ran away.
Washington said Gwinnett County Police will continue high-visibility patrols in the park to ensure that the safety of the park is maintained.
