$40K Amazon College Scholarship Delivered To Grayson High Senior

GRAYSON, GA — A Grayson High School senior is one of two Gwinnett County students and one of five throughout Georgia who’ve won $40,000 college scholarships and paid internships with Amazon in 2021.

Yoanna Turura is also one of 100 nationwide to receive an Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship, according to a company news release. The scholarship targets college-bound seniors from underserved and underrepresented communities.

In addition to paying $40,000 over four years for Turura’s college education, the scholarship comes with a paid internship at Amazon after her freshman year.

Gwinnett County’s other recipient is Sierra Frisbee of Braselton, a graduating senior at the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology in Lawrenceville. High-school seniors from Cumming, Dawsonville and Ellenwood also won Amazon scholarships.
