Are You Glad the Speed Limit Increased Near Gaither Park?

The posted speed limit on Tommy Lee Fuller Drive is now 35 miles per hour instead of 25 mph.

In recent weeks, the 25 mile-per-hour speed limit near Gaither Park off Tommy Lee Fuller Drive increased.

Loganville City Councilman Skip Baliles announced at this month's SALT Triad meeting that the new speed limit is now 35 mph all the way down the road.

Since many residents had complained about the restricted speed for the last couple of years, Baliles said the change was made after determining two other factors.

"That park is not overly used in this point in time," he said. "Plus, we've got sidewalks in place, which gives us a little more security where people aren't walking on the road."

One TRIAD member said she disliked the low speed since she and her husband paid a $160 speeding ticket on Tommy Lee Fuller.

What do you think of the new speed limit? Do you like it or think it should have stayed at 25 mph? Tell us in the comments.
