Early Look Thanksgiving Weather Forecast For Georgia

Bring a sweater or light coat along with you on Thanksgiving Day, based on early metro Atlanta forecasts.

ATLANTA, GA — As you're preparing to give thanks, there may be one more thing to add to your list — be glad you've got a nice sweater or light coat to bundle up with while you're celebrating the holiday.

According to both Weather Underground and Weather.com, we're looking at a chilly Thanksgiving Day, with a high temperature in metro Atlanta around 49 degrees.

The low will be getting down to about 37 on Thursday night and there's about a 10 percent chance of rain, but probably not any thunderstorms, during the day.

If you're traveling next Wednesday, there will be a 20 percent chance of rain in the area, with temperatures hitting a high of 58 and a low of 37, according to the extended forecasts. And looking ahead to the days after Thanksgiving, your Black Friday shopping will be a little warmer, with the high getting up to 56 degrees.

Traveling through the area on your way back home might be a little bit messier over the weekend. On Saturday, Nov. 25, there's a 40 percent chance of rain in the Atlanta area and a 20 percent chance on the Sunday that follows.
