Eastside Medical Center To Be Sold To Atlanta-based Piedmont
Piedmont Healthcare announced Monday it will buy Eastside Medical Center in Snellville, with the purchase set to close in July.

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — Atlanta-based Piedmont Healthcare announced Monday that it will buy Eastside Medical Center in Snellville, with the purchase set to close July 31.
The Gwinnett County facility is one of four in Georgia that Piedmont will buy from HCA Healthcare. The other three are Cartersville Medical Center in Cartersville, and Coliseum Medical Centers and Coliseum Northside in Macon.
“This is an exciting opportunity for Piedmont,” Kevin Brown, president and CEO of Piedmont Healthcare, said in a statement released Monday. “HCA Healthcare has instilled a high standard of care into these facilities, and we are proud that they have trusted Piedmont to continue this legacy.

Eastside received a “C” grade in the spring 2021 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade. The Leapfrog Group is a nonprofit health-care watchdog group that released its most recent rankings Thursday.
Leapfrog grades hospitals twice a year, assigning letter grades from "A" to "F" based on each hospital's ability to protect patients from preventable errors, accidents, injuries and infections.
