GBI Arrests Walton County Man For Child Molestation

A Walton County man employed by the University of Georgia was arrested by the GBI in Athens Monday for child molestation.

WALTON COUNTY, GEORGIA — A Walton County man employed as a maintenance worker by the University of Georgia has been arrested by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for child molestation.

Obadiah Lindsey, 26, of Monroe was arrested Monday in Athens without incident by the GBI. The UGA Police Department helped find and arrest Lindsey, according to a GBI news release.

Lindsey was reported to the GBI’s Athens office on Feb. 22 when another GBI office learned that he may have had sexual contact with a juvenile in Athens-Clarke County, according to the GBI. An investigation into Lindsey’s conduct led the GBI to obtain warrants for his arrest.

Lindsey is charged with two counts of child molestation. As of Friday afternoon, he was listed as an inmate at the Clarke County Jail in Athens.
