Georgia Weather Forecast: The Calm Before The Cold
Metro Atlanta should enjoy at least a few more days of mild weather this weekend. After next week, though, things could get chilly.

ATLANTA, GA — Weather forecasters warn us that winter is, in fact, coming for metro Atlanta and the rest of Georgia. But, for now, we can keep on enjoying the unseasonably mild temperatures we've been having.
This weekend looks to be another relatively warm and comfortable one, with high temperatures in the mid-60s and lows in the low-50s and upper-40s.
There's a 20 percent chance of showers on Saturday. But, otherwise, we're in for sunny skies, too. Perfect weather for getting those Christmas decorations put up, picking out a tree — or tailgating before some Bulldogs and some Tigers hit the gridiron.

We'll see similar weather into next week, although Monday night and Tuesday could get rainy.
Just remember these days, when a long-sleeved shirt and shorts is plenty to be out and about. Weather forecasters tell us that's about to change.

A stormy pattern and much colder air are on deck for Georgia the second week of December, though forecasters say it is still too early for specifics. Accuweather says, depending how low the jet stream dips, the Atlantic Seaboard could "turn significantly colder" come mid-December.
According to Accuweather's extended forecast, the bottom is going to drop out around Wednesday, Dec. 13. That day, the high will be about 47 degrees and the low will plummet all the way down to a freezing 25 degrees.
The lows will dip below freezing the next four days after that, Accuweather says, and the highs won't get out of the 40s.
But we'll worry about that then. For now, here's your weekend weather forecast for metro Atlanta, from the National Weather Service:
Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 66. Northwest wind around 5 m.p.h. Friday night, mostly cloudy, with a low around 52.
Saturday: A 20 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 64. Mostly cloudy again Saturday night, with a low around 48. Northeast wind around 5 m.p.h. becoming calm.
Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 65. Calm wind becoming north around 5 m.p.h. Sunday night, partly cloudy, with a low around 48.
