Georgia Weather Forecast: When Will The Rain Stop?

ATLANTA, GA — With the after-effects of Hurricane Nate rolling through the area, metro Atlanta is in for a few more rainy days this week.

Yes, there will eventually be sunshine in the forecast. But we've got some wet days to slog through first.

Each day this week will have a progressively smaller percentage chance of rain, starting with Monday, when there's a 70 percent chance of precipitation and we could see some thunderstorms. Here's your work week weather forecast for metro Atlanta, from the National Weather Service:

Monday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 80. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Monday night, showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 3 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3 a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 74. Chance of precipitation is again 70 percent.

Tuesday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 84. A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Tuesday night. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71.

Wednesday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 84. Wednesday night, a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68.

Thursday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 83. Mostly clear Thursday night, with a low around 63.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 82. Friday night, partly cloudy, with a low around 65.
