GWINNETT COUNTY, GA – The Gwinnett County Sheriff's Jail Dogs Program is suggesting a cure for people's possible election season hangovers.
The Jail Dogs Program gives carefully-selected inmates an opportunity to give back to society by providing foster care and basic obedience training to homeless dogs to prepare them for adoption.
A Facebook post on the Jail Dogs Program page, points out that, "studies show that owning a dog can reduce stress, ward off depression, improve heart health, improve your social life and help you recover from Election Day results.

The dogs are obedience trained, spayed or neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped. "They're also bi-partisan," the Faceobook post points out, "so they're sure to blend right in with your existing household."
Tara, the dog featured in the above video, is one of the many animals up for adoption. She is a Boxer/Black Mouth Cur Mix and is about two years old.
"She's a smart girl looking for a family of her very own," the Jail Dog Program touts. "Tara was rescued from a local shelter where she was pulled by a rescue and trained to become a K-9 companion dog for a veteran. She did very well in her training, but it was found that she didn't do well with the children in the household. She was brought into the Jail Dog Program where she is showing off her skills and waiting patiently for her forever family to find her. Tara is an active girl that would love to be someone's running, hiking or walking companion and then enjoy the evening with her person.
"It is time that Tara had a family of her own, could you be that person for her?"
