Grayson to Hold Veterans Day Celebration

Guests can expect a band, the Grayson High School drumline and JROTC and more.

The city of Grayson is holding a holiday celebration this year for Veterans Day on Nov. 11.

The Grayson High School drumline will kick off the event at the Grayson Senior Center from 6:30 p.m to 7 p.m., according to Mayor Jim Hinkle.

The colors of the flag will be presented by the color guard in Grayson High's new JROTC program, commanded by Col. Ron Rose.

Two trumpeters from the school band will be performing "Taps," and another band with a military background will be playing later in the evening, too. Refreshments will be available for guests.

The honored guest for the celebration is Rey Martinez, a councilman on the Loganville City Council. He has served for the U.S. Navy Reserves for 24 years.

The event starts at 6:30 p.m. and will take place at the Grayson Senior Center, located at 475 Grayson Parkway. For more information, click here.
