Gwinnett County Has A Furry Present For You

Pets can make a great holiday gift and the Gwinnett animal shelter has a surprise.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — Make this holiday a season to remember with a free pet during Gwinnett Animal Welfare’s “Home for the Howlidays” adoption event.

The group is waiving adoption fees through the month of December.

“We would love to clear the shelter so that each cat and dog can find a warm, loving home for the holidays,” said Alan Davis, director of Gwinnett Animal Welfare and Enforcement.

All pets adopted at Gwinnett Animal Welfare have been vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. Dogs that have tested positive for heartworms will be treated before going home.

The shelter is also providing free family and pet photos with Santa Saturday from 10
a.m. until 2 p.m.

“We enjoy seeing some of our adopted shelter pets return for fun portraits with
the whole family,” Davis said.

The shelter will be closed Dec. 24 and 25, in observance of the Christmas holiday. It will be open during regular business hours Dec. 31, and closed Jan. 1, in observance of New Year’s Day.
