Gwinnett Police Precinct Commander Dies After Lengthy Illness

The head of the Bay Creek Precinct on Ozora Road in Loganville died Wednesday, according to a spokesperson for the Gwinnett County Police.

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — Gwinnett County’s police department is grieving the loss of Major Stuart Bozeman, who died Wednesday morning after a lengthy illness. He was commander of the department’s Bay Creek Precinct, headquartered on Ozora Road in Loganville.

During his 22-year career with the Gwinnett County Police Department, Bozeman served in the uniform division, the training section, the accident-investigation unit and the criminal-investigations division. He also served as commander of the department’s honor guard. Bozeman was promoted to major in 2020.

“Major Bozeman will be remembered as not only a great police officer, but also a loyal friend and a wonderful human being,” said Cpl. Collin Flynn, spokesperson for the Gwinnett County Police Department.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at 12Stone Church, 1322 Buford Dr., Lawrenceville.
