Concussions are a serious type of brain injury caused by a jolt, blow or bump to the head that changes the way the brain normally works.
Baseline testing establishes a basic profile of how a person's brain is functioning pre-injury. This is important in diagnosing and treating concussions, because it helps doctors better recognize what's normal brain activity and what is out of the ordinary.
