(ICYMI) Police Catch Man Suspected in Causing Walton County Wrecks

In case you missed it, Snellville PD apprehended him after a brief foot chase.

The man suspected in causing wrecks in Walton County Monday morning while fleeing from police was found and arrested Tuesday morning, the sheriff’s office said on Facebook.

Dustin Parks Crawford was apprehended by Snellville Police after a brief foot chase near the area of U.S. 78 and Ga. 124. Snellville Police said no one was injured during the arrest.

Crawford was wanted by Snellville police for fleeing police, reckless driving and driving without a license plate. He was in the Gwinnett County jail Tuesday afternoon, and was being held for the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, according to jail records.

Crawford is suspected in causing wrecks in Walton County Monday morning after he sped away from a deputy investigating his car.

The sheriff’s office said the suspect allegedly caused a wreck at Miller Bottom and Highway 20 near Loganville before he wrecked again and ran away.

The incident began early Monday after a deputy responded to a suspicious vehicle call. When the deputy got out of his patrol call, the suspect sped away.

The deputy lost contact with the car but found a wreck at Miller Bottom and Hwy20 caused by the fleeing suspect. Citizens reported another wreck caused by the fleeing suspect in the area. When the deputy arrived, the suspect had fled on foot. A search led the deputies to a house in the area. A search warrant was conducted on the residence but the suspect had fled the area again. An ID has been made on the suspect and warrants are being signed at this time. He also has active warrants out of Gwinnett County.
