Why You Should Always Remove the Tag on New Jeans Before Going Shopping in Them

Loganville man charged with disorderly conduct after objecting to an investigation into whether or not the jeans he was wearing, which still bore the tag, had been purchased.

The following charges were filed by Loganville Police Department during the period Arpil 29 to May 7, 2013. An arrest does not constitute a conviction.

A Loganville man found out the hard way last month why it is always better to remove a label from a new pair of jeans before wearing them out - particularly to a store that carries the same brand.

Joshua Keith Reynolds, 23, of Loganvile was charged with disorderly conduct by the LPD on April 29 after he refused to co-operate when police tried to invesigate whether the jeans he was wearing had been purchased. According to the police report, police were called to the Loganville Walmart in relation to an employee's suspicion that a shopper had shoplifted a pair of jeans he was wearing because the tag was still attached. Reynolds refused to go into the loss prevention office, insisting that he had purchased the jeans the day before from Target. According to the report, he was advised that he would be charged with disorderly conduct if he didn't co-operate. A review of the security tapes revealed that he had indeed not shoplifted the jeans. He was still charged with disorderly conduct for refusing to cooperate.
