Labor Day 2019: What's Open, Closed In Gwinnett County
Here's a look at what public institutions, banks, stores and others are doing on Monday.
GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — For many of us, Labor Day marks the unofficial end of summer. The kids are back in school, football is back on the television and, if we get lucky, a cool breeze here and there suggests that autumn truly is on its way.
This year, Labor Day is Monday, Sept. 2. Because Labor Day is a federal holiday, it means a day off of work for a lot of people and no school for children. As such, many government and other services will be shut down for the day.
Here's a look at some of what will be open and what will be closed in Gwinnett County on Labor Day:

- Gwinnett County government offices will be closed.
- Gwinnett County garbage pick up will be go on as normal.
- Gwinnett County Libraries will be closed.
- Gwinnett County schools will be closed.
- Municipal offices for Loganville, Grayson, Dacula, Peachtree Corners, Lilburn, Buford, Norcross, Duluth, Lawrenceville, Snellville and Suwanee are closed.
- U.S. Postal Service post offices will be closed.
- Most banks will be closed.
- Most Kroger, Publix and other major grocery stores will be open.
- Most restaurants and other consumer-service businesses will be open, but it's worth calling ahead to make sure.
