Conyers Major Randy Mills, left, is pictured with Dustin Dorman age 17, a senior at Rockdale County High School who was honored at a recent City Council meeting for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout March 19, 2016, and for going above and beyond the call of duty for the Conyers Community. Dorman, has logged in more than 400 hours of community service, including, organizing a canned food drive for the Rockdale County Emergency Relief fund where he collected 876 food items and cleaning up at the Walk of Heroes Veterans War Memorial. Dorman also serves as the Cadet Commander of the Civil Air Patrol Auxiliary and is a Gunnery Sergeant of the Marine Corps Junior ROTC. He plays trombone in the Symphonic band. Dorman has earned 46 Merit Badges and has earned his first Palm. His Eagle Scout Project consisted of two wooden benches and two wooden fishing rod holders on the bank of Randy Pointer Lake by the main dock at Black Shoals Park, Conyers. Remarkably Dorman, is going on his 7th consecutive year of perfect attendance in school. After graduation May 2017, Dorman plans on joining the US Air Force, where he would like to serve 20 years and work as an inflight refueler and attend college.
