Major Gwinnett Road Reopened After Fiery Crash: Reports
A police chase early Friday led to a fiery crash that shut down Grayson Highway in Lawrenceville: media reports.

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA — Authorities have reopened part of a major road in Lawrencevile after a police chase early Friday led to a fiery crash, according to media reports. The incident began when a car being chased by police crashed into a utility pole and ignited a gas main on Grayson Highway at Simonton Road, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
The intersection was closed for nearly six hours Friday morning as firefighters and utility crews worked to get the flames under control, according to the AJC. The highway was reopened shortly before 9 a.m.
A police spokesman declined to release the name of the driver of the car that crashed. Charges are pending against the man, say media reports; he was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries and released.
