Byrd & Flanigan Crematory and Funeral Service Lawrenceville, GA; Celebrates the Life Maria Perz

Marian Perz Celebration of Life
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Marian Perz was a loving wife and mother. Her parents were German-American immigrants through Ellis Island. Love was at the heart of everything she did. She put her family first--often before herself. She was a homemaker and a small business owner with her husband, Fred. They ran first a laundromat, then apartments, and finally, the Sails Motel on North Redington Beach, Florida during the 1970s until they retired. Marian dearly loved her two children Susan and Jim, (whom she survived). Marian came out of retirement to do several interesting jobs, the last of which was running the carousel for five years in a mall. During this period she supported peacemaking projects and worked as part of a team on some projects that were empowering to women of diverse ethnic groups. She used to quote the old saying "The hand that rocks the cradle rocks the world." She was a gifted artist, seamstress, and writer--and she mainly enjoyed these activities as hobbies shared with her family. She also loved music and dancing. She loved her cats and her small dogs. Marian was a very strong, kind, funny, and generous person. She lived happily with her daughter during the last decade or more of her life and has been an inspiration to those who knew her well. She had a wonderful sense of humor. She lived to be 92 years old. Her Spirit went to Heaven on November 11, 2016, Veterans Day. She will be greatly missed. Love was at the heart of the world she created around her. For her, love was the heart of life. There will be a Celebration of Life at Serenity Memorial Gardens in Largo, Florida at 2:30 pm on Saturday, November 19th in the sunlit mausoleum. Please arrive at 2:15 if possible. The Celebration will conclude with a burial of her ashes graveside. The address is 13401 Indian Rocks Blvd, Largo, Florida. 33774. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to her daughter Susan Perz c/o Byrd and Flanigan Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The address is 288 Hurricane Shoals Road NE, Lawrenceville, Georgia 30046. You may leave the Perz family a condolence at LoganvilleCremation.com
