Police Arrest 1, Search for 2nd in QuikTrip Shootout
The 18-year-olds are accused of firing multiple shots at a fleeing car in the parking lot of the Centerville Highway convenience store.
Gwinnett Police have arrested one teen and have identified the second in connection with the parking-lot shooting at a Centerville Highway Quik Trip last month.
Police believe Abdu Kimo, 18, and Haben Araya, also 18, were the two suspects shown in surveillance video firing shots at a car speeding out of the parking lot on Sept. 20. Kimo has been arrested, Araya is still at large, police said.
Each is facing three counts of aggravated assault. Additional charges are possible.

Police said media attention to the incident led to several credible leads, assisting police in identifying the suspects.
The shots erupted around 6:30 p.m. Sept. 20 directly in front of the store, sending customers to seek cover in the nearly full parking and gas-pumping areas. The gas station is located at 3490 Centerville Highway in unincorporated Snellville.

An innocent bystander pumping gas nearby was wounded in the foot, apparently from shrapnel. He was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center with a non-life-threatening injury.
Kimo was arrested Sept. 30. He is being held without bond in the Gwinnett County Jail.
If you know the location of Araya, contact the Gwinnett County Police Department at 770-513-5100 or your local law enforcement agency (if outside Gwinnett).
