Police Arrest Second QuikTrip Shooter

Two 18-year-olds are accused of firing multiple shots at a fleeing car in the parking lot of the Centerville Highway convenience store.

The second suspect in a parking-lot shooting last month at a Gwinnett County QuikTrip has been arrested.

Gwinnett Police said in a Friday afternoon update that Haben Araya,18, has been apprehended in DeKalb County.

Police believe Araya, and Abdu Kimo, also 18, were the two suspects shown in surveillance video firing shots at a car speeding out of the parking lot on Sept. 20 at the QuikTrip located at 3490 Centerville Highway in unincorporated Snellville.

Both are facing three counts of aggravated assault. Additional charges are possible.

The shots erupted around 6:30 p.m. Sept. 20 directly in front of the store, sending customers to seek cover in the nearly full parking and gas-pumping areas.
