Snellville Sewage Spill Dumps 850 Gallons in Creek

The spill happened at 7:46 p.m. on Sunday.

SNELLVILLE, GA — A spill on Sunday in Snellville dumped more than 850 gallons of sewage into a creek.

The spill, at 1976 Crescent Dr. in Snellville, was caused by a pipe failure, county officials said.

The Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources was notified at 7:46 p.m. and the overflow was stopped at 11:30 p.m. The roughly 851 gallons of sewage went into Watson Creek.

Water department crews removed all deposited solids. Signs letting residents know of the spill were placed in the area and the Georgia Environmental Protection Division was notified.
