Sorority And NonProfit Partner To Better Community

Community Encouraged to "Masquerade" In Support of Service to All Mankind

(Peachtree Corners, GA)- Psi Omega Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and its philanthropic arm Georgia Pearls of Service Foundation, Inc. (GPOS) will ring out the old and ring in the new with their 3rd annual signature fundraising event themed “A Kaptivating Affair”, New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball on December 31 at the Atlanta Marriott Perimeter Center, Atlanta, Georgia from 8pm – 1am.

But make no mistakes. The bell of this masquerade ball is service to the community. All proceeds will be utilized to fund community service projects, outreach programs, and college scholarships as Psi Omega Omega Chapter and Georgia Pearls of Service Foundation work to improve the quality of life and living for those plagued by the consequences of issues such as poverty, homelessness, disease, and lack of access to education and the arts.
Guests can expect an elegant evening inclusive of the whimsical sounds of The Magic Dream Band, a traditional New Year’s Day meal, a count down and champagne toast at the stroke of midnight; and the all-important purpose of masquerading in support of a programmatic thrust designed to enhance the social, economic, and educational well-being of the local, national and international communities.

Community support is needed to make “An Elegant Affair” New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball a success. In 2018, the event generated a whopping $14,646. Proceeds from the second masquerade ball were donated to the Robert Fowler YMCA, Initiatives Supporting Historically Black Colleges and Universities (“HBCUs”), Two Ora B. Douglass Scholarship recipients and Community Service Programs in the Peachtree Corners, GA geographic area.
