Teens Charged With Murder In Connection With Valentine Shooting

Two Loganville teenagers were charged with murder in connection with the shooting death in Dacula of another Loganville resident.

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — Two teenage girls from Loganville have been charged with murder and assault in connection with a Valentine’s Day homicide in Dacula.

Police announced arrests over the weekend of Jocelyn Spencer and Kennedy Collins, both 17. The two were charged with felony murder and aggravated assault in connection with the shooting death of Faith Burns, 20, also of Loganville, on Feb. 14 at a residence in unincorporated Dacula.

Online records show that Spencer was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail Friday afternoon. Collins had been booked on March 17. Both are being held without bond.

Gwinnett police also announced the arrest of two unidentified 16-year-old girls from Snellville in connection with the case.

Damia Mitchell, 17, of Snellville, turned herself in the day of the shooting. She is charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm by a person under 18 in connection with Burns’ death.

Gwinnett investigators had said in February that they believed that Mitchell and Burns knew each other and had a domestic altercation before the shooting.
