Town Halls On Downtown, Library Scheduled By City Of Loganville

LOGANVILLE, GA — City officials in Loganville have scheduled a class on zoning and two town halls over the next few weeks to help residents navigate the town's changes and continued growth.

Basics of Planning and Zoning class

  • When: May 18, 6:30 p.m.
  • Where: Loganville City Hall council chambers, 4303 Lawrenceville Road

The City of Loganville will host a class introducing the public to the basics of planning and zoning. The class is expected to take about an hour and will be followed by a question-and-answer session with city officials. Those interested in attending the class in person are asked to email info@loganville-ga.gov with their name, address and contact number so copies of class material can be prepared ahead of time. The class will also be made available via YouTube Live.

Town Hall: Redevelopment of Downtown Loganville

  • When: May 20, 6:30 p.m.
  • Where: Rock Gym and Convention Center, 135 Main St.

The first town hall will focus on ideas for redeveloping downtown Loganville. This comes after a recently completed survey on redevelopment conducted by the Citizens Advisory Group limited to city residents and business owners. About 950 people responded to the survey, which exceeded the number of people who voted in the 2019 citywide elections. About 365 additional comments were provided by the respondents as well. Feedback from the town hall will guide Loganville leaders as the request proposals for redevelopment of city-owned properties.

Town Hall: O'Kelly Memorial Library

  • When: May 24, 6:30 p.m.
  • Where: Rock Gym and Convention Center, 135 Main St.

This town hall will focus on the future of the O'Kelly Memorial Library and will be moderated by board trustees, library manager Rick Vetsch and Azalea Regional Library System director Stacy Brown. Officials plan to discuss how moving the library to downtown Loganville could encourage foot traffic and help revitalize the area.
