Unborn Baby Dies In Saturday Morning Traffic Accident
A woman's unborn baby died Saturday in a two-car traffic accident.

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — A woman's unborn baby died Saturday in a two-car traffic accident at the intersection of Buford Highway and Amwiler Road in unincorporated Atlanta.
Sumayia Fardous, 26, who was pregnant, was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Unfortunately, while at the hospital, the fetus did not survive.
Based on the preliminary investigation by the Gwinnett County Police Department Accident Investigation Unit, a Honda Odyssey, driven by Hi Jeon, 64, was traveling north on Buford Hwy at around 6 a.m.

A Honda Civic, driven by Fardous, was traveling south on Buford Hwy.

At the intersection of Buford Hwy and Amwiler Rd, Jeon attempted to make a left turn on a flashing yellow left turn signal. Fardous crashed into the passenger side of Jeon’s Odyssey.
Fardous, who was pregnant, was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Unfortunately, while at the hospital, the fetus did not survive. Two passengers in Jeon’s vehicle were also transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The vehicles were impounded for further analysis.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the accident. At this time, no charges have been filed in this case. Charges may come at a later time.
Gwinnett County Police would like to remind drivers that you must yield to oncoming traffic when turning left at a yellow blinking left turn signal.
