Scavenger Hunt, Outdoors and Indoors
Hunt for azaleas, all throughout our 127 acres. If you visit when they are not in bloom, they will still be marked so you can see their leaves and the habitat where they grow. Need a break from the outdoors? Head inside to check out our Indoor Scavenger Hunts – a new theme each month! The more you find the more NEX points you earn.
Root Mapping - Come explore how water moves through roots! You’ll learn how to go with the phloem as you follow water molecules through plant tissues.
Science! STEM in Nature Exchange - We are pulling out some of our favorite STEM activities this quarter to share with you! From plants to rocks, come explore our stations when you visit NEX.
Flower Power - Learn the parts of the plant as you piece together a flower on our felt wall. Some we all know – like petal. Some you will learn, and then you’ll want to look at flowers up close outside this season.
Want to celebrate Earth Day all season long then sign up for River Canoe Trips offered throughout the spring and summer, including special family canoe days and date night canoe trips or plan a trip to come back and visit CNC for Mother’s Day in May!
