Family Fun Day features STEM Activities and Interactive Exhibits
Flying into the Future at Chattahoochee Nature Center is where science and nature collide to bring you activities focused on STEM.
Visit the Chattahoochee Nature Center on March 25 for Flying into the Future where science and nature collide to bring you activities focused on STEM, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. We are all about forward-thinking at this Family Fun Day. Come ready to learn about birds as well as test your tinkering skills with our STEM-themed partners and activities. The event highlight includes a flighted birds of prey show, where visitors will be able to learn about these incredible animals and have opportunities to get up close as well.
This event will also kick off the opening of our Eco Tinker Interactive Exhibits, open from March 25 - May 31. Eco Tinker Exhibits are nature inspired outdoor exhibits that are included with General Admission and FREE to CNC Members.
5 stations where you can experiment and explore. Our exhibit stations focus on the science of water – how it moves, how it is used – there’s plenty to play with while you learn at our STEAM stations. Expand your creative mind and your vocabulary when you visit ECO TINKER!

STATIONS INCLUDE:
Watershed Water Wall – play wall where kids can watch water flow through different elements that mimic elements of a watershed
Aqua Mandalas – water-inspired art – draw a mandala on dissolving paper and watch it disappear!
Attention! Water Tension – design “water striders” out of paperclips and get them to float on the surface of water
Cleaning the Chattahoochee – studying the technology used to clean the river – display will either be a video of the process, or an interactive to watch water be filtered
Captivating Capillary Action – looking at how capillary action works in plants by watching water move against gravity up tubes of various dimensions
