Recycled Animal Craft Contest Returns To Chattahoochee Nature Center
Inspired by the gopher tortoise, this year's contest will accept entries Nov. 6-17.
ROSWELL, GA -- You can start working on your recycled animal inspired by the gopher tortoise today, as entries will soon be accepted for the Chattahoochee Nature Center's Recycle Animal Craft Contest.
The tortoise, this year's inspiration animal, is Georgia’s state reptile, and we want to see your best Gopher Tortoise Sculpture - made from recycled and found objects.
Visitor Experience Manager Alicia Evans said the Chattahoochee Nature Center started the recycled animal contest "because we wanted to highlight and use the repurposed animal exhibits in the watershed gallery as the inspiration for people to create nature inspired art from recycled materials."

Participants in the Recycled Animal Contest may visit the CNC anytime to be inspired by the repurposed animal exhibits in the gallery. Some are hiding and you have to look high and low to find all of them.
Visitors can continue their art in nature inspiration and visit the special exhibit “Naturally Artistic” at the Chattahoochee Nature Center through the end of November. Four outdoor art stations will allow you to visit some of the CNC’s most picturesque locations and create your own nature art.
