CRESTWOOD, IL — Two people in danger of overdosing in separate incidents were revived using the drug naloxone, Crestwood police said.

Officers went to the 14200 block of Pulaski for a possible drug overdose on Feb. 27. When officers arrived, they learned that a person had snorted heroin and was unconscious, police said in a statement. The person was only taking short gasps and had pinpoint pupils, usually an indication of an opioid overdose. Officers were able to revive the person with two doses of naloxone nasal spray and was transported to the hospital for further treatment.

The next day, Feb. 28, police went to the 5400 block of Fairway Drive for another possible drug overdose. The person had used heroin and was unconscious, police said. Officers learned that a family member had tried to administer naloxone, but the person’s condition had not changed. After two shots of naloxone nasal spray, the person revived and was transported to the hospital for further treatment.
