3 Charged In Attempted Looting of Lawn Mower Store
Attempted burglary charges were announced for three men accused of trying to break into a lawn mower repair shop in Alsip on May 31,
ALSIP, IL — Three men have been charged in the attempted burglary of a lawn mower store in Alsip after last weekend’s unrest sparked by George Floyd’s death. Alsip police said it was the the only incident of looting reported in Alsip.
Tyrensl Jones, 26, and Salividor Brown, 28, both of Chicago, and 32-year-old Marquis Williams, of Michigan City, Ind., were each charged with attempted burglary.
Around 4 p.m. May 31, officers responded to a burglary in progress at Alsip Lawn Mower Repair, 11550 S. Pulaski Road. Officers took one suspect in custody at the scene, and the other fled on foot and were apprehended in nearby neighborhoods.

Alsip police announced the charges on Facebook Sunday evening. It is not known if the three men had a bond hearing.
