CRESTWOOD, IL – An elderly resident was helped out of their home during a house fire this week thanks to three citizens who jumped into action.
On Tuesday around 7:30 p.m., police responded to the 128th block of West Playfield Drive for reports that an elderly resident and a child may have been trapped inside a home.
When police and firefighters arrived, they discovered a fire in front of the house, police said. Police went to the back of the house to get inside, but learned three people had already helped the elderly resident get out of the home.
