For the past number of years, the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation has had much success with raising funds painting hollow-fiberglass horses and dogs and displaying them on the Mag Mile in Chicago. This year, K9s were painted, once again, and is on display through September 30th. Past and present dogs can be viewed at K9s for Cops at https://www.chicagok9s.com/, click on the gallery tab.
Action Sertoma sponsored a K9 for the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation. His name is Sarge. Sarge is on display at 626 N Michigan Ave (#16 on the map). In addition to having our various logos painted on Sarge, the consumers from the Sertoma Centre also painted the K9. Sertoma Centre routinely has the consumers paint different things ranging from golf topics to self portraits. With these two worthy organizations joining together to 1) raise money for the CPMF and 2) raise awareness of the work done by Sertoma, it’s a win-win situation. After the display on the Mag Mile, Sarge will find a permanent home at the Sertoma Centre in Alsip for all to see.
