Alsip Hosts All Hallow's Eve Carnival And Trick or Trunk, Oct. 28

Alsip plans children's Halloween events on Oct. 28.

ALSIP, IL -- Show off your Halloween costumes at the Alsip Park District’s Halloween costume parade beginning on Saturday, Oct. 28. The parade steps off at 9:30 a.m. at the Apollo Recreation Center Gymnasium. Judges will pick the best costumes and announce winners at the All Hallow’s Eve Carnival immediately following the parade at 10 a.m.

There will be lots of prizes and the chance to guess the weight of a giant pumpkin and number of candies in a jar. Kids can also decorate their own pumpkin. Popcorn and beverages will be served. Each child will have a goodie bag or prizes to bring home.

Haunts Against Hunger Trick or Trunk and Food Drive

After the All Hallow’s Eve Carnival make the rounds of the Apollo Recreation Center’s parking lot. Local families and businesses are invited to reserve a space for Trick or Trunk. Decorate your truck or car with Halloween decor, and hand out candy to trick or treaters as they stop by. This is a safe alternative to trick or treating around the neighborhood. Parents are invited to make the rounds with their kids.

Dress in your favorite costume and bring a nonperishable food item (or a couple) for the Haunts Against Hunger Food Drive. All food collected will be distributed to local food pantries just in time for the cooler months and holiday season. If the weather gets spooky, like rain, the event will be postponed. Contact the main office at at 708-389-1003 if you are interested in hosting a parking space during Trick or Trunk. Trick or Trunk runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28.
