AMC Theatres Set To Reopen (Again) In Crestwood and Chicago Ridge

CRESTWOOD, IL — Movies will resume at the AMC Crestwood 18 and at seven other AMC locations throughout the state on Friday, Jan. 22. AMC Chicago Ridge 6 at Chicago Ridge Mall is slated to open next week. The theaters will be operating under the movie theater chain’s new “AMC Safe & Clean” guidelines developed in consort with public health and safety experts. In accordance with state mitigation rules, AMC will continue to restrict capacity at Illinois theaters to 25-percent.

AMC Entertainment, which claims to be the largest theatrical exhibitor in the United States, Europe, the Middle East and the world, announced that seven of its AMC locations, including Crestwood, will resume operations in the state on Friday. An additional 35 locations, including Chicago Ridge, will reopen on Friday, Jan. 29, in accordance with guidance from IDPH officials,

COVID-19 restrictions will be stringently enforced under the AMC Safe and Clean policies and protocols, designed with the health and safety of guests and crew in mind. This includes mandatory mask wearing and appropriate social distancing within the auditorium. In addition, AMC abides by all state and local directives regarding movie theater operations, and in rare cases, the total allowed guest count may be less than 20 to comply with state and local directives.

All guests and staff will be required to wear face masks, but theatergoers may remove them in the auditorium while enjoying food and drinks. Face masks will be sold at theaters for a buck. Social distancing is also required. AMC’s COVID-19 guidelines include such measures as cashless transactions at the concession stand, hand sanitizers and disinfectant wipes throughout the theaters, social distancing and AMC associate health screening.

Moviegoers in Illinois can enjoy current titles like “The Marksman,” “News of the World,” “Wonder Woman 1984,” “Croods: A New Age,” as well as such upcoming Artisan titles “Supernova” on Jan. 29, and “Land” and “The Mauritanian” on Feb. 12.
