Better Not Pout, Santa's Coming To Worth Township

ALSIP, IL -- Do your kids want to see Santa but the lines are too long at the mall? Want to have pictures of your crying/smiling child sitting on Santa's lap, but the mall photos are too expensive? Skip the long lines and take as many pictures as you like when Santa parks his reindeer on the roof of Worth Township Center, 11601 S. Pulaski Road, Alsip, for a few weeks starting Monday, Dec. 2.

Children, accompanied by an adult, may visit Santa during the hours of 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Dec. 2 through Dec. 20. Kids who whisper what they want for Christmas in Jolly Old St. Nicholas’s ear will receive a small gift. Bring your cameras and make sure your cell phone is charged for photo ops.

The Worth Township Youth Commission has built a beautiful winter wonderland to welcome Santa to Alsip. This Santa is great with kids and will awe your little ones. Children with special needs and sensory sensitivities can experience a visit with Santa in a calm, soothing environment. Call ahead and tell the youth commission what you need and when you’re coming. (You may want to avoid Friday, Dec. 6, when hundreds of youngsters will stop by to visit during Holiday On Pulaski.) The building is also wheelchair accessible.

There is no charge to visit Santa, but the youth commission would appreciate donations of new toys and/or canned goods for Worth Township's Christmas Care Program and Food Pantry. Demand is high this year for local families who’ve requested assistance filling empty stockings. The youth commission could use more gifts in the 10-14 age range.
