Chicago Southland Convention & Visitors Bureau’s National Tourism Day Event

WHAT: The Chicago Southland Convention & Visitors Bureau will be celebrating the power of tourism and the 62 municipalities that make up this region. One in nine jobs in the U.S. is supported by the $2.1 trillion national travel industry. About 110 million domestic tourists visited Illinois last year, an increase of more than 1 million. Domestic visitors spent more than $35 billion in the state during 2016, this is a 1.8 percent increase over 2015. In the Chicago Southland tourism is going strong with the May opening of HITS Balmoral Park in Crete, Ill. and Accelerated Indoor Speedway in Mokena, Ill. scheduled to open later this fall. Join us in the tourism-industry excitement that occurs from fueling our economy!
