D218 to Offer Free SAT Prep Seminar for Private School Students

Deadline to register is Dec. 20; students must live in D218 to attend.

Community High School District 218 will offer a free one-day seminar on Saturday, Jan. 7, on preparing for the Scholastic Aptitude Test for juniors attending private high schools.

Students must live in District 218 to attend the seminar, titled SAT 1600. Instructors from the test preparation firm Excel Edge will lead the seminar.

The free one-day seminar will preview the SAT, its content, and strategies for maximizing scores.

The deadline to register for the one-day seminar is December 20. Parents can register their students at the email address listed below or by completing the form attached to this article and sending to Assistant Superintendent Dr. Josh Barron, District 218, Administrative Center, 10701 S. Kilpatrick Avenue, Oak Lawn, IL 60453.

The SAT seminar will meet on Saturday, January 7 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Richards High School, 10601 S. Central Avenue in Oak Lawn.

SAT 1600 also will offer an eight-week course to prepare for the SAT.

The first 100 students enrolled in private high schools who live in District 218 and register for the eight-week course will receive a $100 discount. Normally $240, the course will cost $140 for the first 100 who register.
