Better Government for Alsip Wins All But One Village Board Race

Alsip Community Alliance candidate Monica Juarez edges out BGA slate to win trustee seat in the April 6 suburban races.

ALSIP, IL — The Better Government for Alsip party won all but one village board seat in Tuesday's election.

Monica Juarez, who ran with mayoral challenger Michael Zielinski's Alsip Community Alliance, was the came in third to claim one of three trustee seats.

The Better Government for Alsip slate's Catalina Nava-Esparza and David Perretta were elected village trustees.

Village Clerk - Renee Harding (Better Government for Alsip) - 1,030
Village Trustee - Catalina Nava-Esperaza (BGA) - 1,041
Village Trustee - William Love (BGA) - 912
Village Trustee - David Perretta (BGA) - 1,010

Included in the unofficial election day results are early votes and votes that were cast in precincts on election day. Mail-in votes received during the early voting period are also figured into Tuesday’s totals. The Cook County Clerk has two weeks to count the mail-in ballots trickling in after election day, as long as they are postmarked by April 6, 2021.

Early voting in the April 6 consolidated election was higher than the past two consolidated elections in 2019 and 2017. Requests for mail-in ballots were also up.
